Still to this day, I remember my vacation to Maui having some of the best food I have ever eaten on a trip!
We went here for our honeymoon in Maui, and as foodie lovers ourselves, we made it our mission to try out some of the best places to eat in Maui and see if they lived up to the hype – spoiler alert they did! 😍
Below, I’ve compiled a list of our favorite places to eat in Maui, from coffee shops to delicious lunch and dinner spots, as well as must-visit food trucks and dessert spots.
Don’t leave Maui without trying some shaved ice and banana bread—it’s a must!

Below, I’ve listed my favorite coffee shops, lunch and dinner spots, and delicious dessert options.
1. Maui Coffee Roaster Cafe

Maui Coffee Roasters Cafe is a popular coffee shop in Maui for good reason!
Their menu offers a variety of coffee drinks, from classic espressos to specialty lattes and cold brews. The Creamy Caramel latte & Honey latte are standouts to me!
You can also grab a freshly baked pastry or sandwich to go with your coffee.
In my opinion, there is no better way to start my day than trying out a local coffee shop!
Please note they are closed on Sundays.
2. Grandma’s Coffee House

- Location: Kula, Near Haleakala National Park
Since 1918, Grandma’s Coffee House has been a staple coffee shop in Maui serving up delicious coffee and homemade baked goods.
It is the perfect spot to grab breakfast after your visit to Haleakalā National Park, especially if you’ve been up early to catch the sunrise.
The Coconut-Crusted French Toast is definitely one of the highlights on the menu as well as their selection of yummy omelets.
3. Island Vintage Coffee

Island Vintage Coffee is a great place to grab a specialty coffee and on-the-go breakfast & lunch options featuring acai bowls, sandwiches, and salads.
When we visited during our honeymoon in Maui, it was very crowded so beware of this if you’re short on time.
We probably waited around 45 minutes for our drinks, but it was worth it to us!
It is located in Whalers Village, which is an outdoor mall area, so you can always wait outside if it is really busy.
If you prefer sweet coffee drinks (like me!), then I highly recommend you try the Maunakea Iced Coffee.
It is flavored with sea salt caramel and is even topped with a scoop of gelato!
4. Wailuku Coffee Company

Located in historic downtown Wailuku, Wailuku Coffee Company is a cozy coffee shop offering a variety of espresso drinks, cold brew, baked goods, and breakfast & lunch food.
I loved the atmosphere of this coffee shop!
The staff were super friendly, and our food & coffee were great. I highly recommend the Carmilla latte.
This is a great coffee shop to visit before or after your hike at Waihe’e Ridge Trail to refuel.
5. Paia Bay Coffee
Paia Bay Coffee is definitely one of our favorite breakfast places in Maui!
We came here after our visit to Twin Falls.
The vibes of this place are unmatched!
They have a new location since we visited but based on the pictures it looks amazing!
I recommend the Banana Bread French Toast and the yummy Breakfast Bowl.

6. Kraken Coffee Food Truck

This is the perfect food truck in Maui for coffee lovers looking for delicious espresso drinks and cold brew.
The Kraken Coffee Food Truck can be found in various locations around Maui (Kahului, Kihei, and Lahaina). Check out their website for the exact locations.
As a sweet coffee drink lover, I highly recommend the Halekalalatte – a caramel latte!
Fun fact – they make their ice cubes out of coffee! No watered down coffee served here!

7. Wow Wow Lemonade Maui

Wow Wow Lemonade is known for its flavorful lemonades as well as a variety of other drinks, including cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and cold brew.
If you’re looking for a spot to grab a refreshing drink on a hot day, this is the perfect place!
I highly recommend the Mango Lemonade and the Original Acai Bowl – so refreshing!

Akamai Coffee Co is a great coffee shop in Kihei, Maui if you’re looking for some delicious breakfast & coffee.
A unique aspect of this coffee shop is that they only serve 100% locally roasted coffee beans.
I recommend the French Toast for a sweet breakfast, and if you prefer a more savory breakfast, the Lox + Cream is delicious!

9. 808 Plates Food Truck

If you are looking for a place to eat lunch in Maui near the airport, I 100% recommend stopping at the 808 Plates food truck.
They offer a variety of plate lunch options featuring local favorites. I highly recommend the garlic shrimp!
It is located in the Lowe’s Parking lot near the airport off of Ho’okele Street. It also shows up in Google Maps if you search “808 Plates”.
We ended up eating in our car, but you could also stop by the beach and eat there!


10. Nalu’s South Shore Grill
- Location: Azeka Shopping Center in Kihei

Nalu’s South Shore Grill is a great place to eat in Kihei for dinner!
Their menu features a variety of seafood, burgers, and more. I recommend the Pacific Mahi Mahi and volcano fries!
There is a daily happy hour from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm!
They do not take reservations.
11. 808 Deli
- Location: Kihei
- Website
808 Deli is hands-down one of the best places to eat in Maui for lunch! We frequented here several times on our trip, and I highly recommend it.
It is easy to grab and go to enjoy at the beach or in your condo. It is within walking distance from Kama’ole Beach.
They serve a variety of hot & cold sandwiches, salads, and other deli-style food such as pasta salad and even homemade pudding!
My favorites are the Toasted Italian sandwich, the Porkie Panini, the Banana Pudding, and the Caprese Pasta Salad.

12. Maui Brewing Company

Maui Brewing Company is a popular brewery in Maui known for its craft beers and delicious food.
We went to the location in Kihei, but they do have two other locations in Lahaina. Check out their website for the exact locations.
They offer a selection of locally brewed beers on tap, as well as a menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and various yummy appetizers.
I got the Origami Pizza and garlic fries – highly recommend!

13. Kihei Caffe
- Location: Kihei and Lahaina

Kihei Caffe is a popular breakfast and brunch spot in Kihei, Maui.
It’s well-known for its delicious and hearty breakfast, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere.
It was one of our favorite places we ate at during our honeymoon in Maui!
I got the Pork Fried Rice Bowl, and it was super yummy!
We went to the location in Kihei, and there is free parking across the street at Kalama Park. We were always able to find a parking spot.

14. The Fish Market Maui

The Fish Market Maui is a casual seafood restaurant and fish market serving up fresh fish tacos, poke bowls, and seafood plates.
They offer some of the freshest fish you will find in Maui!
If you like seafood chowder, be sure to try theirs out as it is served in a large bread bowl!
15. Paia Fish Market
- Locations: Kihei & Paia

Paia Fish Market is a popular place to eat in Maui for fresh fish sandwiches, plates, and tacos.
We went to the location in Kihei, but they have another location in Paia as well.
My favorite thing on the menu is the fish tacos!
16. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman
- Locations: Wailea & Ka’anapali

Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman is one of the most popular restaurants in Maui – for good reason!
They are well-known for their Mai Tais – so if you are a lover of Mai Tais, be sure to visit here on your trip and give it a try!
As this is a very popular restaurant, reservations are recommended. You can do so here.
The Hamakua Mushroom Pizza is AMAZING!

17. The Flatbread Company

The Flatbread Company is well-known for its delicious wood-fired pizzas!
They offer a variety of creative pizza toppings! I highly recommend the Mopsy Pie – it is one of the most popular pizzas on their menu.
18. Aloha Thai Fusion Food Truck

The Aloha Thai Fusion Food Truck was our favorite food truck in Kihei, Maui!
Food trucks are the best places to eat in Maui for cheap without sacrificing quality food!
I love the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, and the Banana Rolls for dessert!

Kinaole Grill was another one of our favorite food trucks in Maui!
We went to the location in Kihei (73 Alanui Kealii Dr Kihei, HI 96753).
The garlic shrimp was my personal favorite!
20. Three’s Bar & Grill
- Location: Kihei
- Website
Three’s Bar & Grill is a great restaurant in Kihei that offers a diverse menu featuring Hawaiian-inspired dishes, sushi, and American cuisine.
It has a lively atmosphere and often has live music in the evenings.
I got the Kalua pork quesadilla when we visited, and it was delicious!

21. Tin Roof

Tin Roof is a popular spot if you’re looking for Hawaiian comfort food, featuring crispy pork belly bowls and garlic noodles.
It is very popular so you will most likely have to wait in line (like we did), but it goes fast!
It is a great place to grab a bite to eat near the airport.
We grabbed it to go (since there is no place to sit inside) and ate it on the sidewalk 😂.
The Garlic Shrimp is fantastic!

22. Mama’s Fish House

Mama’s Fish House is one of the most well-known restaurants in Maui!
It is on the pricier side but worth it for its fresh seafood and beautiful oceanfront setting.
Its menu features Polynesian-inspired dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
It is one of the best places to eat in Maui for couples due to its romantic atmosphere.

23. Mana Foods

Mana Foods is a well-known natural and organic grocery store in Paia, Maui.
It offers a wide selection of locally sourced produce & organic foods.
In addition to groceries, they also have a deli and bakery section, offering freshly prepared meals, sandwiches, and baked goods.
Highlights include yummy cinnamon buns, breakfast burritos, acai bowls, and much more!
It is a great place to stop to stock up on lunch food for a beach picnic or to have at your condo.
24. Hali’imaile General Store

- Website
Hali’imaile General Store is a must-visit restaurant while in Maui due to its popularity, delicious food, and long-standing history.
They serve lunch & dinner featuring fresh Ahi Poke Bowls, Wagyu Cheeseburgers, fresh fish, and Pineapple Upside-Down Cake for dessert.
Reservations are highly recommended. You can do so here.
25. Geste Shrimp Truck

One of the most popular food trucks in Maui for garlic shrimp is without a doubt Geste Shrimp Truck, located in Kahului.
It is located in a small lot with several other food trucks.
It is a great place to stop before heading to or from the airport and conveniently located near the Costco.
Please be aware that they are cash only.
26. Kula Bistro

Located in upcountry Maui, Kula Bistro is a popular restaurant in Maui known for its delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
They serve up a mix of American and Italian cuisine. The Lobster Mac & Cheese is a must have!
They do not take reservations.
27. Coconut’s Fish Cafe
- Location: Kihei
- Website
Coconut’s Fish Cafe is a great casual sit down restaurant in Kihei, Maui known for its fresh fish tacos, coconut shrimp, and other seafood dishes.
They have two locations in Kihei, one located in the Azeka Shopping Center and the other in the Kamaole Shopping Center.
I recommend the Coconut Shrimp and Mahi Mahi!
28. Peace Love Shave Ice

Please do not leave Maui without trying the shaved ice at Peace Love Shave Ice!
In my opinion, it is by far the best shaved ice in Maui!
We went to the location at 1975 S Kihei Rd, Kihei, HI 96753 almost every night on our trip and were never disappointed.
Be sure to add a scoop of ice cream to the bottom of your bowl! Macadamia Nut was my favorite.

Maui Gelato is a great ice cream shop in Maui!
They’ve got all the classic flavors, like chocolate and vanilla, but also some local specialties like passion fruit and macadamia nut.
They also have vegan and dairy-free options.
It’s the perfect place to treat yourself after a day of exploring the island!
30. Tobi’s Poke & Shave Ice

Tobi’s Poke & Shave Ice is another popular place for shaved ice in Maui due to its generous portions and variety of flavors.
They offer the traditional flavors along with Hawaiian specialties like lilikoi and guava.
It is also really popular for its fresh poke bowls!
31. Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread

- Website
Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread is widely well-known in Maui for its moist and flavorful banana bread.
It is located on the Ke‘Anae Peninsula after Mile Marker 16.
They open at 8:30 am Monday through Saturday, and they are closed on Sundays.
They are open until they sell out so be sure to stop by relatively early to ensure you are able to get your hands on that famous banana bread!
32. Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop

Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop is famous for its delicious pies and comfort food!
It’s a great spot for lunch or a quick snack while exploring the island.
In addition to their famous pies, they serve a variety of yummy sandwiches, burgers, and salads.
I highly recommend their Banana Cream Pie.
Conclusion
In my opinion, these are the best places to eat in Maui, but I am sure there are plenty more hidden gems that I haven’t tried!
